Motion & Video Design · Trading Education

A square, social-ready motion graphic breaking down how to tell a good breakout entry from a bad one — built for a trading-education audience that scrolls fast and needs the idea in seconds, not paragraphs.

The brief

Retail traders see the word "breakout" everywhere but rarely see the difference between one that's actually tradeable and one that's a trap. The brief was to turn a single, specific entry rule into a short animated explainer that reads clearly even muted, on a phone, at a glance.

What it covers

The video opens on the title card — "Trading Breakouts, Not Good vs Bad" — then splits the screen into two live side-by-side chart scenarios. On the left, a breakout candle followed immediately by continuation is marked "Do Not Enter": price never gave a retracement to confirm the move. On the right, the same breakout candle followed by a pullback into a highlighted zone is marked "Enter": that pullback is the confirmation. A full candlestick sequence then plays out under each label — "Bad Breakout (Not Ready Yet)" against "Good Breakout (Ready to Enter)" — before a closing caption spells out the actual rule: watch the second candle after a breakout, since price tends to retrace to roughly the 61.8% level of the first candle before continuing in its original direction.

Why it works

Putting the two outcomes on screen simultaneously — same setup, opposite verdicts — does the explaining before a single word of the caption is read. The red/green, cross/checkmark coding carries the lesson through sound-off autoplay on a social feed, while the closing caption gives traders who stop to read a concrete, usable number instead of a vague "wait for confirmation."

Got a concept to explain?

Let's turn it into a short, scroll-stopping video

If you need an idea broken down into a clean, fast-reading animated explainer, I'd like to hear about it.
